1) You will spend the first night in the exquisite Hotel Heinitzburg.
2) After a hearty breakfast on the veranda of the Hotel Heinitzburg with a lovely view over Windhoek we will leave for Okonjima, home of the “AfriCat” foundation. We You will learn a lot about their project on how to rehabilitate the wild cheetah and leopards. You’llWe will also see the animals close up and you will get the chance to take your own photos of these lovely big cats.
3) In the morning we you will take part in one moreanother activity from their projects. Then we will have a heftyAfter brunch we’ll and depart for Ongava Wilderness Lodge on the boundary border of Etosha. The Lodge is well situated on a dolerite ridge with a fantastic view over overlooking a waterhole and the African bush. From the Bar and restaurant area we will be able to view the wild animals like black Rhino and antelope.
4) We will Then for a drive through Etosha National Park. We will drive proceed from waterhole to waterhole and see big herds of wild game. Etosha is one of Africa’s big attractions because its fairly easy to see a lot of different species around these waterholes.. At the endFinally we’ll will spend a night in the luxurious Mushara Lodge with exquisite meals and good great South African wines.
5) From here we drive through commercial farmland and pass the towns of Tsumeb and Grootfontein. Half way to Rundu we will enter the communal land of the Kavango region. This is typical Africa as thewith rural traditional people farming in this region. There are pPeople and their live stock all overeverywhere, and villages and their livestock.. We will reside at the Hakusembe Lodge on the Okavango River .River.
6) We will pass by Rundu, take a look at the different parts of town and then drive the river road which is far more interesting than the better tarmac road further inland. Here I will be able to point out and show you quite a bit of traditional African lifve.. We mayight see a sledge that they pull by oxen, the traditionalir way of transport. They have not taken over the invention of the wheel in this part of the world. We sleep at the Suclabo Lodge close to the Popa falls. ItsThe falls are not much more than like rapids, but we can hear them as we fall asleep.
7) We will visit the Mahango Park Oon theour way to Botswana and Drotsky’s Cabbins, we will visit the Mahango Park. This park has quite a variety of different animal on offer due to the Okavango river and more lush vegetation. Drotsky’s is situated on the upper panhandle of the Okavango Delta and there we will take an afternoon boat cruise on the river to view the birds , crocs and hippos. But even tThe people and domestic animals along the river make it interesting.,b But its mainly the abundance and variety of birds make it very interesting.
8) Back through the Mahango Park and over the Okavango bridgeBridge. We go into the Caprivi stripStrip and visit the Lianshulu Lodge in Mudumu Park. In the afternoon we willwe’ll take a relaxing boat cruise withand enjoy a sundowner. The Ddinner is an elegant affair and at night its an experience to witness hear all the sounds from of the African bush and water whilst being safve in the luxurious Bungalows.
9) Nnow we go travel through Botswana to reach the Impalila Island in the far eastern corner of Namibia where it meeats with Zambia and Zimbabwe, we will stay at Ichingo River Lodge in luxury Safari Tents. This is the confluence of the Zambezi and Chobe rivers, so there is plenty water.
10) As we stay a second night in In Ichingo we stay two nights and have time for we will do theirsome activities which are boat trips on the Chobe river along the Chobe Park which is home to the worlds biggest elephant population, namely approx. 70 000. This Parks has it all, from big game to birds and reptiles. It is also possible to sleep out in the river on a houseboat,houseboat; this might be a nice alternative.
11) Nnow we have to backtrack our route, we will stop over at Namushasha Lodge. Here we will do game drives in an open safari vehicle along the Botswana border, its good for seeing viewing big herds of Buffalo.
12) Now we willNext is a visit tothe Dornhügel Guest Farm close to Grootfontein. It is a typical cattle ranch and the farmer will take us on a tour of his farm and give us insight intoexplain the difficulties of farming in such a dry country. Due to the fact that the rainfall is higher in this part of Namibia he even tries his luck with crop farming; and tourism off coarse. It is difficult. Therefore tThe accommodation on the farm might not be as luxurious as in the lodges but we will get a very warm and hearty reception.
13) Today we willwe’ll visit the Hoba meteorite , the biggest known meteoritein the world. Then we on to continue to Otjiwa Guest Farm,. A a privately owned game farm in central Namibia. The last chance to see plains game and Rhino.
14) To day it’sNow all the way back to Windhoek and the end of theour tour. You will have time to explore the town. Dinner is on your own account in one of the many restaurants in Windhoek. Hotel Heinitzburg
15) I will take you to the airport if you have an early departure. Then it’s goodbye until the next tour with Namib Enviro Tours CC.
